I’ve been a slacker for a few weeks, but I am back at it. :)
This weekend I went through my fridge and pantry and cleaned it out. I got rid of everything that had high fructose corn syrup. I also got rid of the faux food. This week’s menu reflects these changes. :)
And btw - I am on day 6 of NO PEPSI. This is HUGE for me... because I was drinking way too much of it. I have already lost 5# from making some small changes - the biggest was the cutting of Pepsi.
In a day or two I will post another post about my diet clean up efforts, and post before and after pictures of the pantry. It actually looks nice now. :)

The shrimp and the pasta cook in about the same amount of time, so it goes together quickly with just a few simple ingredients.
Shawn gave this 2 thumbs up, so did the kids. :)
I’d love to know when you make this, and what your family thinks!
I admit, I don’t like grocery shopping. I really really do NOT like grocery shopping. But, it’s a necessary evil. So, I’ve been making up menus. I am thankful that my mother taught me how to plan a menu for a family. So, today I am planning menus for the next two weeks. Thus far (12:51 pm) I have one week completed.
Typically I have used menu planning forms from this website, but today I thought I would be a little more creative and fun. So, I opened up PAGES (one of the three programs included in iWork) and looked at the available templates. Sure enough, the perfect one! A MENU! As in a REAL menu... like you would find in a restaurant.
At the left is our menu for the week of August 2, 2009. I will try to make it so that you can click on it to make it bigger. Not promising anything, but I will try!
This menu will be posted on our refrigerator. I am hoping that it will do 2 things for us. 1) not clutter up the fridge with lots of handwritten notes of menu ideas. 2) help us to eat at home more often and possibly avoid the nagging question of, “What’s for dinner?”

UPDATED 8/3****
The file in the left hand column is clickable and will bring up a full page PDF that you can print. :) I’m so clever.
